Dr. Michael Ditkoff is a 1994 graduate of SUNY Upstate Medical Center. He completed an internship in general surgery at the New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts in 1995. Following this he commenced his specialty training in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at New England Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts under the chairmanship of Dr. Stanley Shapshay. During his specialty training, Dr. Ditkoff had an outstanding exposure to lasers in Otolaryngology and Pediatric Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery during his work at Harvard University Boston Childrens Hospital, Tufts University Pediatric Floating Hospital and Brown University Hasbro Childrens Hospital. He completed his residency in June of 1999. Following this, he commenced practice in Nassau County, New York and joined North Shore Otolaryngology in Manhasset, New York.
Dr. Ditkoff is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Ditkoff operates and cares for patients at his various hospital affiliations which include:
- North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset
- St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn
- Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola
- New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, New York
Dr. Ditkoff has published and presented papers in the area of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. Some of the topics covered have included the use of the laser in middle ear reconstruction, abnormal neurological activity of the larynx, early intervention in the cleft palate child, tumors of the skull base and evaluation of swallowing.
Dr. Ditkoff currently treats adult and pediatric patients medically and surgically in all aspects of ear, nose and throat disorders.
Dr. Ditkoff has an active role in the surgical and medical training of the surgery, medicine and pediatric residents at North Shore University Hospital. He lectures the residents on diseases and complications of the ear, nose and throat.
